I wasn’t surprised by my answers but it still got me motivated to try and live a more (mentally) healthy life:

Identify one thing you want in life: Living without the fear of fear (anxiety)

Because this thing will bring me:

More chances of being happy, seeing places, meeting new people, experiencing life the fullest

Which will bring me:

A happier and more satisfied life

Which will bring me:

True happiness for myself and the people that care about me

Which will bring me:

Better relationships and more time to put my energy into something worthy.

I liked my answers though they’re also confrontations.

I've only discovered this blog within the past month and I've already found myself looking forward to it as a staple of my week. I went big with this exercise, because go big or go home:

1. A wife and companion.

2. A confidant, consultative partner, collaborator in life.

3. The ability to transcend some of my own personal limitations and also to contribute directly toward the well-being of both another person and a committed relationship (if one views a relationship as its own organic entity, as both distinct from and greater than the sum of the individuals participating in it).

4. The ability to be more focused, deliberate, and effective in my actions and endeavors in all arenas of life.

5. The ability to more directly serve something greater than myself, whether it be a relationship, a family, a community, or the larger humanity.

6. Because why? Ultimately and somewhat paradoxically, I think the most effective route to fulfillment and self-realization is through participation in something that transcends the individual in scope and importance.

“The more we search for ourselves, the less likely we are to find ourselves; and the more we search for God*, and to serve our fellow-men, the more profoundly will we become acquainted with ourselves, and the more inwardly assured. This is one of the great spiritual laws of life.”

- Shoghi Effendi

*Whether a theist, atheist, or agnostic, I think this sentiment runs true if we seek to identify the broadest and most universal point of orientation for the individual; whatever that thing is—serve *that.*

Thanks. I meant to emphasize how quickly it's become a staple of my week, but I've also only just happened upon her YouTube channel, etc. I don't have a lot of opportunities in my life at the moment to discuss anything particularly deeply or with much insight, so it's been a welcome discovery.

I really enjoyed this one perhaps since I had a conversation with close friends surrounding the topic of aligning the way you live with who you believe you truly are. So this newsletter made me smile.

1. I want adventure through international or domestic travel.

2 ...because it will bring me knowledge and experience. By allowing me to learn new languages, meet new people, taste new foods, live in different climates and experience life from a different perspective.

3. which will allow me to have meaningful interactions with humans and or animals. which will keep me grounded.

4. which will bring me peace (before eternal slumber).

I enjoyed this letter.

I "semi-retired" in 2021, after covid-19 ravished my previous job in IT and Hospitality. I decided to take a year off and get so projects around the house done. I now am deciding my next move. Travel to other countries is not possible; but within the USA it is. So I plan a couple of trips. I am able to exercise each day (at the time my body feels right), and learn more things via online training.

I want to enjoy my final years on the wonderful planet - I just hope covid-19 is going soon from society, so i am able to visit other countries. Maybe one final trip back to my home in Castleford, West Yorkshire, England and take in a Leeds United football game for one last time.

Villa fan here, but it's good to see Leeds back in the bigtime. They play some exciting football.

Yes, fortunately a couple of stations in America have finally picked up on soccer and now show many games on TV. For the past 15 years, i could not watch Premier league football (soccer). Hey, I even watch Man United and you know that is normally a difficult thing to do for a Leeds Fan. But I just enjoy watching football and seeing Ronaldo on TV every weekend is great. England will have a strong team for the next world cup. Thank you for your reply.

Also I like reading and watching Lana Blakely, she seems to be a very nice and genuine person.

For sure! There seems to be a positive, supportive, and encouraging atmosphere about the place, and the world (and especially the internet) needs so much more of that. I'm an "insight" junkie, so I love dissecting important issues and trying to get to the heart of the matter.

It's impressive to see players like Phillips and Bamford deservedly breaking into the England setup. As an American and US national team supporter, I envy your depth. We're on our way up, but we're not ready to rival the traditional powers just yet.

halfway through the excercise, i realised i had a long way to go, which made me feel both excited and a little overwhelmed. either way, it really helped put things into perspective for me. and if you're like me at all, you might find this additional line helpful as well. i added: "...at the cost of" at the end as a reminder that the 'how' is not always easy :')

p.s.: this couldn't have found me at a better time. thank you, lana. xx

1. Identify 1 thing that you want in life. This does not need to be the single most important thing you want.

My answer: I want to achieve my career goals.

2. …because this thing will bring me:

My answer: An opportunity to leave home, meet new people, start fresh and gain a new found form of independence.

3. …which will bring me:

My answer: Financial security, an escape from mediocrity, and an opportunity to diversify my perspectives.

4. …which will bring me:

My answer: Growth as an individual working towards attaining a more meaningful and satisfying life.

This exercise is brutal indeed, but brings so much value to our dreams and goals. It really helps identify what is worth chasing and doing it for the right reasons...

Love the prompt.

One thing I want in life: To not work for anyone else.

Because this will give me more control of my time.

Which will bring me a sense of peace and freedom to pursue my own interests.

I had a lot to say about this but the platform refreshed it self so Imma used it has a signal for keeping my answers from the activity to myself. Btw, try doing the aesthetic part right now in the place you are living in this moment, invite someone over and have them for a sleepover for the weekend or so, maybe do a Halloween theme party there... it will help you with the stress, and also, you'll have fun. Te felicito por lo que estás logrando con Ro y con tu podcast, I think you can make a funny game naming it, maybe something that begins with Ro, like Mance.
